What the score looks at.
Trigger words and phrases
Words like "guaranteed", "act now", "100% free" and "click here" are what promotions say, and cold email that sounds like a promotion gets treated like one — by filters and by people. Strong triggers are highlighted red, medium amber and mild blue.
Shouting and punctuation
ALL CAPS words (common acronyms like CEO, GST and D2C are ignored), several exclamation marks, and repeated punctuation like !! or ?? all read as hype.
Links and images
Many senders keep the first email link-free and share links once someone replies. An email that is mostly an image with little text is a classic spam pattern.
Length and reading time
Cold emails between roughly 50 and 125 words tend to get read to the end. Reading time assumes 200 words a minute.
